MINERAL HAIR ANALYSIS

Mineral hair analysis can be a most accurate and convenient screening choice to monitor your exposure to certain toxic metal pollutants such as lead, cadmium or arsenic.

Hair is like a strip of paper curling out a scientific measuring instrument that is comparable to your body; it is permanently recording the past events of your trace element status. As your hair grows about 1 millimeter every 3 days it takes protein from the blood and in the process concentrate nutrients and toxic elements into the growing hair shaft. Elemental concentrations in the hair are often 10 TIMES OR GREATER than that in blood or urine, often hair will show toxicity when blood or urine will not.

Mineral hair analysis provides an excellent screening measurement and is simple, safe and relatively inexpensive.

HAIR SPECIMENS FOR ANALYSIS

Hair must be collected by a professional (Trichologist or a trained person)

Collection of the hair specimens should be from the nape of the neck and it should represent the first 5cms of recent growth from the scalp but not the long ends. Sample size should be from 500 milligrams to 1 gram.

In the absence of scalp hair, other body hair such as beard hair, axillary hair or pubic hair may be analysed but it must be documented where it has been taken from.

The sample is then packed in a transportation envelope with your details and shipped to a Professional Lab for Analysis.

The Laboratory compiles an in depth report which will be discussed with you by the Trichologist.
